A little time in solitude and reflection is healthy for the soul.
I took a hiatus.
We’re often encouraged to keep going with phrases and hashtags like #teamnosleep or “keep grinding” to name a few. However, our bodies, heart and mind need mini vacations from this busy world which is overflowing with stimulation, information and distractions. So I bring to you the unpopular notion, which is to be still. Take life in one breath at a time, reflect on how far you’ve come. Look at the present and your hopes for the future. Has anything changed? How do you feel about that?
I’ve made this a regular habit, taking “life breaks” and it has been a rewarding experience. If done properly I will complete a session feeling refreshed and serene. Friends and family may think you’re distancing yourself. If they inquire about you being incognito just assure them you’re “taking it easy for a little while.” Your life may gotten busy or maybe it’s beating you up. Whatever the origin, the high and the low times can be great opportunities for exercising reflection. It’s through reflection that we grow and blossom.
